BRITISH CAR CONVERSIONS in the beginning was called Killer Bee Conversions. We started our commercial business in 1990. We were involved with engine conversions, alternator conversions, alternator rebuilding, water pump conversions, transmission conversions, electrical and electronic conversions. We are doing the same business today and are constantly researching for other conversion products to place on the market. Our conversions include, but not limited to, all four cylinder MGB, Sprite, Midget,  Metropolitan and all Fiero's. It was necessary to distinguish the conversion kit from the company so we renamed the company BRITISH CAR CONVERSIONS. We are into our twentieth year doing conversions with an accumulated experience of more than fifty years. We feel that there is no one better qualified in the 60V6 conversion market. Today our small company is the still the only company in the world who uses the powerful front wheel drive engine for conversions and we are known around the world. We, the staff, at BRITISH CAR CONVERSIONS have composed this website to assist the MGB enthusiast in their goal to transform a mediocre performing machine into an exhilarating, outstanding, performing sports car. We feel that this classic beauty should have the dignity and performance that it deserves. Our goal is to achieve the integrity of the body structure while achieving outstanding performance. We think we have accomplished this by the use of the modern General Motors 60 degree V6 engine. This engine was introduced in 1982 and in its infancy was very mundane, unreliable and often troublesome. The 2.8-liter engine suffered from oil distribution problems, leaky seals, and breathing problems. After more than 24 years of research and development this engine has become a very highly developed compact powerhouse that is phenomenal in potential. The latest production version incorporates components that you would find in a much higher classed engine. Components such as needle bearing rockers, roller lifters, canted 3 angle valves, progressive valve springs, high flowing aluminum heads and fine balancing of reciprocating parts. The latest 3.5 version has over 200 HP in stock form. This versatile engine is available in 3.1,3.4,3.5 and a 3.9 liter with 240 HP in unmodified form. All of these FWD engines can be easily tuned to more than 10% of their original horsepower for very little cost. This engine continues to be developed and refined in much the same manner as the first production Chevrolet small block V8. It has also gained the confidence and respect of open wheel racers, boat racers and hot rodders. All advocates have come to recognize it's power to size ratio. Aftermarket performance parts are ever increasing. We are sure that you'll agree that the marriage of this engine and the MGB had to be perfect because the MGB was already there.
